Trades of work performed included site development, grading, excavation, underground utilities, storm drainage, paving, concrete flatwork, landscaping, erosion control, and civil infrastructure coordination.
The MLK Recreation and Aquatic Center project consisted of the construction of a 64,179 SF state-of-the-art recreation and aquatic facility designed to support community programs, wellness initiatives, and public events. The facility includes a full-size gymnasium, competition pool, administrative offices, breakroom, flexible community spaces, and supporting recreational amenities.
Delivered through a joint venture, FS 360 led all site development and civil scope activities associated with the project. Work included grading, underground utilities, paving, storm drainage infrastructure, sidewalks, landscaping, and associated site improvements required to support the new facility. Careful coordination was required throughout construction to maintain schedule alignment between vertical construction and site development activities while ensuring quality, safety, and long-term site performance.
The project achieved LEED Gold certification and has received multiple industry recognitions for its design excellence and community impact, including the AIA St. Louis Chapter Merit Award, the Atlanta Urban Design Commission Award of Excellence for Interior Design of Public Spaces, and recognition from the Urban Land Institute Atlanta.
