The GSU Kell Hall Demolition & Infrastructure project consisted of the full demolition of the existing 275,000 SF multi-story Kell Hall building located within the center of Georgia State University’s active urban campus. The project was completed to make way for a new landscaped greenspace designed to support student engagement, pedestrian connectivity, and overall campus enhancement.

Scope included structural demolition of the existing facility, removal of associated infrastructure, site clearing, utility coordination, grading, and preparation for the new campus greenspace development. Following demolition activities, the project included construction of landscaped open areas, pedestrian pathways, shaded seating spaces, and supporting site improvements designed to integrate seamlessly with surrounding campus facilities and circulation routes.

Because the project was performed within a densely populated and continuously operating university environment, extensive planning and coordination were required to maintain campus safety, accessibility, and daily operations throughout demolition and sitework activities. FS 360 carefully managed logistics, pedestrian routing, dust and noise mitigation, and utility coordination to minimize impacts to students, faculty, and adjacent campus facilities. The completed project transformed a dense urban campus footprint into an accessible and sustainable outdoor gathering space focused on community use and campus connectivity.
