September 2017 - October 2022
Trades of work performed included site development, airside infrastructure, roadway relocations, underground utilities, structural construction, passenger boarding bridge coordination, fuel infrastructure, electrical and power systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, fire station construction, concessions construction, paving, concrete, structural steel, low-voltage systems, landscaping, and general civil and MEP coordination within an active airport environment.
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Concourse T North Extension and Fire Station project consisted of a major aviation expansion and infrastructure improvement initiative delivered for the City of Atlanta, with FS 360 serving as a Joint Venture Partner. The project included the addition of five new ADG III aircraft gates at the north end of Concourse T along with extensive airside and operational infrastructure upgrades designed to support increased passenger capacity and airport operations.
Scope included construction of new aircraft parking positions, passenger boarding bridges, 400HZ power systems, preconditioned air systems, hydrant fueling infrastructure, charging stations, and a new taxi lane, along with significant airside utility and infrastructure improvements. As part of the enabling and phased construction efforts, the project also required relocation of major terminal roadways, utilities, and operational support facilities to accommodate the expansion work while maintaining uninterrupted airport functionality.
FS 360 directly facilitated construction of more than 50,000 SF of new concession spaces and also delivered a new $20 million ground-up fire station prior to decommissioning the existing facility. The fire station included operational support spaces and critical emergency response infrastructure necessary to maintain airport safety and operations throughout the project duration.
Because all work was completed within one of the busiest airports in the world, the project required extensive coordination with airport operations, aviation stakeholders, and multiple trades to maintain safety, security, and continuous airport operations. FS 360 coordinated complex logistics, phased sequencing, and operational interfaces to successfully support delivery of the large-scale aviation expansion project.
